Anyone read this book? I just finished it, and one of the more memorable books I've read recently.

My girlfriend read it, it's still lying about. Is it worth a read? I didn't get that good an impression of it, but may have judged the proverbial book by its cover.

Certainly worth a read.

I'd agree the cover is horrible, and title looks dull. Originally I thought 'one of those books' and quickly dismissed it.

BUT...it's very much the opposite. It's very well-written, and basically about a woman who has parents who ended up homeless by choice. Rex and Rose Mary Walls....one is an alcoholic and the other an artist...they wandered all over the deserts changing towns when bills caught up to them...raising kids in the process.

The kids grow out of it, all end up living in New York City...and then the parents follow-along and end up living homeless on the streets by choice while the kids are thriving in careers, etc.

It's a well-written, very interesting read, and one of the more memorable books I've read in a long time. One of those kind of books that linger in the mind long after you've read it.

I got it as a secret Santa gift, and I'm loving it.
