I've searched through all the threads on F-4 visas that I could find, and I still have two questions (especially because I'm not sure if the information on this board is outdated now that Korea has abandoned "hojuk"s in favor of these "Family Registry Certificate"s?)
1) My father never affirmatively renounced his Korean citizenship when he became an American citizen. Is this a problem? If he wants to renounce his Korean citizenship now, what does he have to do and how long will that take?
2) My father's back in the U.S. and I'm currently here in Seoul on a different visa. Where do I go to get his Family Registry Certificate and his Standard Certificate and what information/documentation do I need to provide to get his?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide |

You don't have any relatives here that can help you out? How about a friend who can go with you to immigration, because you might not get an accurate answer here.
If neither of the two are an option, send me a pm. |
