I've been trying to find out about this online..

I've always heard people say that if you get permission from your original employer (sponsor), then E-2 visaholders can go to immigration and get permission to work at a second location.

Does anyone have any links for this, or can say with 100% certainty that this is an actual law?

Thanks....

Yes - it has been the law for many many years now..

(1) You have to find a second job...

explain to the new employer that you already have an E-2 visa and would like them to add their place of employment onto your visa as "an additional place of employment"

(Most employer love this - because there is no need to apply for a new visa and no need to give you a flight to Japan for visa-run etc etc)

(2) Your current (original) employer has to give you the "additional place of employment" piece of paper stamped/signed and ALSO your current timetable schedule...

Take those two documents to immigration along with you passport, ARC, and 60,000won and you will be given a second visa (in your passport and also on the back of your ARC)...

ITs all legal..

However...

(1) If you work for a public school - you can only add on another Public school - you CANNOT add on a "Private institute"

(If you work for a "private institute" you can add on either another private institute or a public school...

(2) The second position has to have LESS hours than your first (original) position... (if the second position has more hours - then just ask your employer to "fake" you timetable and make it look like more hours"....

ALSO note - when your original visa finishes - it also tends to cancel out your additional visa...

Thanks...

Do you have any official links to this? I'm trying to help my employer out, but they think it's only for public schools, which we're not.
