I understand SMOE recruit primarily for September and March starting dates (I think) but how about any slightly later dates like in October?
Just wondering as I will probably arrive late September/beginning October. Is it worth my while to try for SMOE? or am I wasting my time even if I have the CRC , docs etc? I have an F visa so don`t have to worry about that part at least |

Don't trust SMOE. They will tell you upfront that there are no exceptions to the starting date. They will be adamant when they say it too.
Its the biggest lie they have. Every single time there are peoplet hat come 1,2,3, even 4 weeks past the start date.
Just tell SMOE that you know that in March people came late. And the August before that people came late. And the March before taht people came late. That every single term SMOE has hired since the start of the NSET program, people have been hired after the cutoff date. |

SMOE tries to keep their hiring to only the start of the semester. Whether the teachers actually start on those dates is different. Currently they aren't hiring anyone but there is always the chance that a teacher doesn't fulfill their contract and has to leave early which would create an opening for you. Also there are the teachers who didn't start in March / September who are finishing out their contracts which create openings as well.
But again the best times to apply for are the March and September sessions since they have the most available space then. |
