| I will have a 4 hour layover in Beijing in Nov. before heading home. Will I need a transit visa? I have an american passport? I've read some conflicting info about this. The Chinese embassy website is incredibly confusing. |

Transit without visa IS allowed (for US citizens) PROVIDED:
a) you depart within 24 hours
b) you have confirmed onward passage and
c) entry documents for your next destination.
