- Palin's daughter Bristol who attends an Anchorage high school, was reportedly absent for what would have been the last 4 -5 months of her mother's pregnancy, claiming to be suffering from a prolonged case of mono.
- Sarah Palin's water broke while she was attending a conference in Texas. She then proceeded to give a 30-minute speech before taking an 11-12 hour flight home to Alaska to give birth.
- All photos on the Alaska State Department's official website that show Sarah Palin and her family have been taken down.

Well, look who just caught up.
Palin's kid is hers. Anyone saying otherwise is, in the throes of liberal psychosis, simply trying to discredit or defame the woman whose selection as McCain's running mate virtually guarantees that their messiah will be sent packing come election time. |

I'm gonna post here what I posted on the other thread...
I would hope that mainstream, high-profile or even medium-profile Democrats are not pursuing this fake pregnancy angle, UNLESS THEY'RE 100% SURE THAT THE ALLEGATION IS TRUE.
If the allegation is pursued at a high level, and it turns out to be false, the accusers come off looking like Grade A assholes. This in turn gives the GOP the opportunity to holler about the Dems' practicing tabloid politics and violating the Palin family's privacy. And that sort of rhetoric has a lot of resonance with middle-class voters everywhere.
And for this thread I'll just add...
The best way for the Dems to play this would be to say nothing about it at all, feign aloof disinterest, and just let the tabloids do their usual dirty work, like they did with the Edwards' mistress thing. If the voting public decides that there's something to the story, and that this makes them not want to vote for McCain/Palin, great. If not, oh well. |

The shameful thing is dragging the baby thru it in the first place.
If they adopted him to keep the family intact. Great. Great PR ploy for how families stick together thru thick and thin.
Plus the baby will have health insurance, something the daughter would probably have had to go begging from the state? |

Personally, I could really care less about any propoganda on any side, it just looks like garbage to me.
BUT...McCain's incredibly bad decision basically means he is now powerless to say ANYTHING about Obama/Biden...as ANYTHING he says will reflect on his own common sense when choosing his own running mate and he'll now have to defend that until November, and everything else becomes irrelavant.
Good luck, John McCain. I certainly would not want to be in his shoes. It certainly seems like McCain is a VERY POOR decision maker anyways, but this certainly is the icing on the cake. |

In the event that the mother covered up her daughters pregnancy, and assumed responsibility of a disabled child out of compassion for her kids reputation and future, I'd say it is solid evidence of a morally sound woman. However, I'm sure the story is nonsense. |

I can't see where following up on this story is helpful to Democrats. It is National Enquirer material and should be left to the experts. It is titillating at best. |

You're all forgetting that Palin is against birth control. It shows she is an idealistic moron with her head up her asss, regardless of whether the story is true or not. But if it is true, it will hurt her campaign. |

I must say, she's pretty damn fantastic looking for a 45 year old mother of 5. In fact, her being so old and giving birth may help explain the child's having special needs. I really do wonder though how she intends to keep up a full campaigning schedule and the duties of the VP while having a special needs infant around.
As for that pregnancy stuff? Unless there's absolute proof, nobody should have even mentioned it. It just discredits the left while giving horrible self body images to that teenage girl. And really if that girl was preggers, don't you think they could have found something better to cover her up rather than a tight top? Like a sun dress or a modest blouse? |

I don't expect this story to turn out true. But if it did, I agree with Mises, in that I don't see how her actions should necessarily be construed negatively. |
