What are the chances of getting my phone back after leaving it in a taxi Friday night?

Unless you are extremely lucky, virtually "0".

If you do get it back you better start buying lottery tickets (you are bound to win with that kind of luck).

If you don't speak Korean, your best chance is to have a Korean friend call your number and hope someone picks up. I lost a phone before and got it back. Usually it isn't of any value to the person that finds it.

I got mine back after calling my phone and the taxi driver answered. I gave him my address and he dropped it off and I just paid him like it was a taxi fare plus a decent tip (which they don't usually accept).

Good luck.

I been gettin discounts from taxi drivers from 200 to 900 won ever since I started giving them directions in full sentences in Korean, I'm guessing it's a mix of they are nice / they like that I can speak Korean / they are in a hurry and don't want to bother with change.

Korea is sparkling sometimes.

I left my phone on an intercity bus, but realized it as soon as I got into the terminal. Staff called the driver, who had already left, and I was able to take a taxi to the gas station where the driver was waiting with my phone.

Losing my phone would be a major hassle. How do people guard agaisnt that? A second phone with duplicate info maybe?
