Another great speech that makes a clear, compelling case for change:

Another ref to Obama's willingness to unilaterally invade Pakistan?

There might even be teaching jobs for you all when you get home...

Now is the time to finally meet our moral obligation to provide every child a world-class education, because it will take nothing less to compete in the global economy. Michelle and I are only here tonight because we were given a chance at an education. And I will not settle for an America where some kids don't have that chance. I'll invest in early childhood education. I'll recruit an army of new teachers, and pay them higher salaries and give them more support. And in exchange, I'll ask for higher standards and more accountability. And we will keep our promise to every young American if you commit to serving your community or your country, we will make sure you can afford a college education.

Taking campaign-promises at face-value? Another reason for my disconnect with B. Obama's core supporters.

Very well. Should he win the election, I shall expect to see "an army of teachers" and I shall expect to see "higher salaries" and "more support" for them -- whatever exactly all of that nonsense means.

Yesh, I'm skeptical.

How can things get much better when no child has been left behind?

Per usual, Mrs. Gopher, the prototype of all prototypes of the Gopher-groupies, utters a singularly inappropriate defiant comeback.

Note how she failed to produce any example of anyone on this message board's taking the "no child left behind" campaign-promise at face-value, for example.

Hey everyone,

Remember - It's not about ME. It's about YOU.

DD

That was the deepest message in that whole speech.

I do believe it is now Friday in America. Friday afternoon in fact. Therefore I will now instruct Gopher to relax.

Time to relax, Mr G.
