Ok, I got my CRC done through a Paralegal office in TO who got it done through the Springhill PD in Nova Scotia (same PD as Truecheck.ca but minus the logo's and stuff that Kor. immigration fusses about, it's the same that Springhill releases locally).
However, it looks like I could have made it!! Sorta bugs me is all as I paid an arm and a leg to have it rushed here in a few days. Even the embossed seal is budget. Luckily I trust this office or I'd feel I had been scammed.
Anyone elses check look rather scant on detail...sorta scares me is all. |

yeah, mine is really short and scant. it basically has my name within a sentence that no information could be found or disseminated about me. i was a little disappointed- i mean, the address and office data on it was three times longer then the two sentences about me not having a criminal record. i would have felt a little more comfortable if it had plainly said "no criminal record" but it used 15 big words when 7 normal words would have done....no worries on me understanding it, but the koreans could be a different story |

"No Match Found" or "No record found" might look boring, but it's the long, interesting ones that will get you rejected. |

Please keep us updated on this. I plan to use the same service I would like to know if immigration will accept it or cause trouble. |

My RCMP check looked like it would have been the easiest thing in the world to forge. |

I used the Springhill Police Service check too and immigration accepted with no problem. You have to get it notarized by the Canadian embassy first, which is stupid because how do they know any better than I do whether it is genuine? I agree that it looked pretty boring and could easily have been forged. |

Ok, today I went to the embassy for notorisation with my CRC and the consular office woman said it looked fine and should pose no problems that she is aware of to immigration.
Now, one thing to note, as of Sept. 1st VSS checks are needed by immigration so you must get that included, but thankfully it is only an addtional form to fill and is only a check on the CRC form. So pretty easy.
The paralegal office that I went through was a huge help and was much, much faster than the other options that I checked into. www.cbmpara.ca
It can be pricey if you need it yesterday (cost me $165Cdn for 3 day delivery and CRC/VSS charge) but only like $46Cdn for snail-mail registered.

CRC papers from Korean police are also rather plain looking. |

Unfortunately, he's right...

Nice of them to announce it... this business of slipping new things into the regulations every so often makes it very difficult to keep current. |

I got mine through the RCMP in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Same story. It was just a simple template out of a printer proving that they typed my name in Police Google or whatever. |

Well, if you did that at the Canadian Embassy in Seoul or Busan, you didn't actually get it notarized. They don't provide that service. All you did was swear an affidavit that the information you provided was true. I think the fee is 35$.
Basically you swear the affidavit, the and Consulate will sign it for you.
They were just taking your word for it at a fee of 35$ |
