What if I got a CRC in December of last year. Then I transferred jobs but since I had been here nine months I didn't need a CRC since it was before March 15th.
So I have a CRC sitting around. It's a year old when I go to renew at my school. Although I have not left Korea in two years. From what I understand I'm SOL and have to get a new one simply because of the rule even though in my case I haven't left Korea to commit a crime back home.
Ugh. |

Yep it is one of my biggest peeves with Korea Immigration and the CRC. My criminal record check expires but I have not gone back to that country since it has been issued. What doe they expect to find. I flew all the way home, killed somebody then decided to come back. Here you would think logic would rule. Show you have not visited your home country since your visa and CRC has been issued so it should not expire. But once you step back on to home soil you will need to get a new CRC.
And you are not forgetting people who have lived overseas and do not need to get a check for those countries. |

Yeah, I've wondered about this, too. A person with a spotless record back home could have lived in another country for years, committed all sorts of heinous acts there, acts that may be on record, and moved here. He is welcomed with open arms because his home record is clean. |
