Most places have this small control panel which controls the water heater and direction of flow. That's because the ondol heating system now uses hot water instead of the old deadly charcoal briquettes.
If you're lucky, the control panel also has icons to show if the flow is just to heat the water (mine has a shower icon for that) or to heat the floor (mine has a house icon). If you're not lucky, then you'll need to translate the button labels yourself or have someone else do that.
The control panel may be located anywhere in the apartment. The obvious places to look, to me, would be either in the kitchen or next to the bathroom. I don't think I've ever seen one in either location, though. It's been either next to the main light switches or just by itself on a random wall. |

OK, I had a huge problem with hot water. The problem was that I turned the hot water on, fully rather than halfway. Seriously. If I turned the hot water on half-way, it'd work, if not, it didn't work.
Play around with it. |
