Ok, so I've been sending money back to the states for a while now. Everytime I do it, I had to go to the atm and pull out ridiculous quantities of cash, sit in line, wait for a teller to open up, and then wait 10-15 mins while my stuff was being processed.

Last time I was there, the teller gave me this passbook and told me next time to just go to the atm, but I have no idea how to use the atm to transfer money with a passbook. Anyone know how its done? With my luck, I'll prob just loose all my money. I'm technologically challenged. Very Happy

The thing that makes me angry about this is they can transfer the money for you. At some banks they just ask me to punch in my pin and they do the rest. They don't ask me to pull out 4 bags of cash from the ATM. Anyone know why some banks make you do this foolishness?

I bank at KEB.

I never go see anyone.

I have an online account, you should set this up for yourself. Then you can do everything you want on your computer.. pay house bills, remit, etc etc

if you have an issue you can their help line and someone can help you in English.

No I bank at NH bank, referred to by all the teachers at my hagwon as useless bank. Its the one my boss uses. I have to go to the KEB to do foreign money transfers. Sad

Or set up an auto-remittance account and transfer the amount you want through that account (transfer money from main account to auto account and it sends home automatically). You also save 30% on remittance fees (on this end).

KEB's foreign remittance account is awesome once it's set up right. Even when I sent money the old-fashioned way, I never took the CSR wads of cash. They can transfer directly from your account. You may need to swipe your card and enter your PIN at their counter.
