To all the gamers. I'm thinking about upgrading from my GPU (8800GTS 320mb).

Which would be the better setup?

Radeon 3850 (512mb) x 2 Crossfire
or
Radeon 4850 x 1

My monitor is 1680 x 1050.

Thanks

4850 FTW..

Its a great card OC's like a beast. 4870 is nice as well. Down side is that it heats up like made.. If you can get good aftermarket heatsink you will really like a the setup.

3850X2 has major micro stuttering issues.

Definitely the HD4850. No sense putting 2 older cards in a new system when you can have one newer one that'll give you better performance and the new one is cheaper.

I agree, just get one with the VF1000 or VF1050 heat sink, they're only like a couple of 만 more and will probably overclock much further or just live longer.

Are you going to sell your old card? If so, how much?

Just asking....

Yes. Someone else has already put in an offer for it, but I haven't accepted anything just yet.

Protip: There's a 4850 hotfix out there that lets you set the fan speed. The default is pretty low (causing it to idle at like 85 degrees). Mine idles at 50 now and the noise isn't that much more.
