Hamburgers made with beef are more healthy that tofu burgers. This should disappoint a lot of Earth Muffins.
We didn't get to the top of the food chain just to become vegetarians
Ted Nugent
It's called beef and it makes a great substitute for Tofu. |

Doesn't matter.
Animals are made out of meat. That they're there to be eaten is obvious. Many of them are really tasty, too.
Mmmm... Fried squirrel with redeye 'possum gravy, collards, cornbread, and sweet tea. A meal for kings. |

Vegetarians - and especially vegans - don't necessarily eat healthy - especially if they over rely on tofu for protein - but well-balenced vegetarian diets are better overall for the health of individuals, societies, animals, and the environment.
I don't think it's just a coincidence that so many people recognized as great thinkers (and even great musicians) have been vegetarians and advocates of vegetarianism.

If God didn't want us to eat animals - why did he make them out of meat? |

Jesus hung around with fishermen for God's sake! You don't tghink he ate the fish that they caught? John the Bapist ate Locust's for crying out loud! How on earth does eating locusts account for being a vegitarian? |

The "animals are made out of meat" argument is pretty weak considering we're also made of meat.
I have no problems with eating meat. It's the scale of the meat eating going on that causes problems. |

Vegetarian doesn't necessarily mean being fanatical.
When there's not enough vegetarian food available, vegetarians with common sense eat meat or whatever is necessary for survival.
Those who are vegetarian for spiritual reasons would first eat fish (then fowl) before eating animals with more developed consciousness.
As far as I know, there's no conclusive evidence that Jesus ever personally ate meat - or even fish (though there's circumstantial evidence for the latter). |

I suppose this is probably going to start something, but dont you think u could have chosen a person that has proof of existence before you talked about whether or not there is proof of him being a vegetarian or not. Unless of course you're talking about literary proof for a potentially fictional character.
Just a thought. |

What about inconviencing your host. Vegetarians and Vegans make pretty crappy guests. Always demanding preferential service. They need to be reminded it's someones home not Singapore airlines. |

Do you have unannounced vegetarians dropping by your house often?
Where are these mysterious vegans I keep hearing about that go around and wreck dinner parties? |

Carnivores generally have short intestines. Dead flesh generally putrifies rapidly, so the meal is supposed to be eaten soon after killing and then expelled promptly.
Man's relatively long intestine is better suited to plant foods, which is one reason why vegetarianism (if done properly) is a healthier diet. |

Naw.
This is argument is a case of vegetarians trying to get data to fit.
True, the human intestine is long. But, other things affect the working of it like surface area, cell types and intestinal crypts.
Vegetarianism could be a healthier diet if done properly, probably, but most of the anatomical reasons given by vegetarian groups are stretched pretty thin.
As for the actual OP, while I won't say that beef is healthier than soy, I will note that soy allergies are a problem with kids, a recent study indicates that if impairs cognition and increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease, and it can possibly impact thyroid function. Soy also reduces sperm count (but that could be good or bad depending on your view). |
