Nothing quite like a properly frosted authentic pub beer mug to make that cold one go down nicely! Where can I find a few here in Seoul? |

Indeed, there was. On a corner about half a block down from MBC and the KSE. Located on B1 of a non-descript dept. store building across the street (due south) from what was referred to as the "Mok-ja building" and across another street (due east) from the big Nat'l Teachers' Pension Fund Bldg and the offices of Peat Marwick.
I was only my way back to the office after lunch at that very London Pub (their faux pizzas were the best in town -- rubbery cheese, green & red marischino cherry halves, no recognisable meat product, heated by votive candle) when I got sideswiped by a taxi as I stepped off the kerb to cross the intersection. Done hit and run. No cellphones back then, I just sat on the kerb, me and my fractured leg, had a cigarette, and waited for someone from our office to happen by.
The waitresses' skirts, upholstery and carpeting at the London Pub were all done up in a matching red plaid. None swankier. |
