I'm leaving for Korea in a few weeks, and from what I've heard, most people there don't drink the water. I've found this little gadget called the Steripen, which purifies your water using UV rays. Does anyone have one of these? It runs a little under a hundred USD, but I figure it will pay for itself versus buying bottled water all the time. Any good/bad/neutral experiences?
Thanks |

You can get water cooler bottles delivered to your door for about five bucks, and one of those used to do me two weeks. it's probably not necessary |

The Steripen doesn't do anything to remove the heavy metals or other particulate pollutants. In a heavily industralized nation where the water sources are questionable that should be on your list of concerns. If you're really worried about the water, then buy yourself a water purifier rather than a water treatment device. But the best thing is to just have large water jugs delivered or buy the 6-packs of 2-liter bottles at the stores. |
