| hey all, i'm trying to get my man over here as much as possible since i'm kind of a clingy girlfriend. anyways, he was going to visit for up to two months, maybe longer in the summer, towards the end of my stay. does anyone know if public schools have issue with you living with someone for a while? only curious since they pay for the apt and all and you never know right? i'm pretty new here still so every new day is a big "wtf why?" for me. i thought maybe i shouldn't tell them at all, not specifically try to hide it just not make a big show of it you know? anyways, if anyone has experience or suggestions or advice just let me know, i'd be forever grateful! |

Do it. It's none of their business, it's your space and you're paying for it. He's your fiance. If you told them then they'd understand.
I say, do it and it's no big deal at all. |

| The paid apt is just part of your salary, standard issue for any hagown monkey fresh out of art school. They have no say in how you spend your money. |

| No. I'm also not a monkey, nor do I work at a hagwon. |

So is there something wrong with teachers who graduate from art schools? If anything, they are more insightful and usually more creative with their approach to teaching. |

BFA degree holder here. What are you going to say next? It's not a real degree? It was a waste of time? It's B.S.? Please. Spare me. |

I've recently met a guy who has a BFA and he is a very delightful man from Baltimore.
A very good friend also has a BFA and she is also a wonderful, delightful person.
Nothing wrong with a BFA... the opposite is true, I would say. |

| No there's nothing wrong with a BFA but it's not related to English Teaching, as are a number of other fields I could have mentioned. |

But why blurt out comments about art school graduates? You obviously know nothing about the rigorous curriculum.
www.pratt.edu. That's where I went. Happens to be one of the best schools in the U.S. for library sciences. If you haven't heard of it, you're a (as professor told me about people who aren't in the know) waste of my time.
It's like that song by the Jam, that English band from the 80's, called Art School. "Fools only laugh cause they envy you." |

Getting back on Topic. It will likely not cause you any problems. Thru I have heard of some schools mainly hawgons who want the extra person to pay. Hagwons can be very cheap at times.
If you fiance is going to work at another school your school will very likely complain. The schools feel "why am I paying for a teacher to live when they do not work for me". So if your BF stay and it is only for few months and he does not work he will likely be ignored.
Another aspect you will have to deal with is MORALS. Lets hope your landlord/lady is not snoopy or buttinsky. Or your boss will not jump down your throat for living in sin with another man. YOU *beep* YOU. (joke). So your best bet is to keep it quite. Say yes I have a boyfriend and nothing about where he lives. |

Moreso, a LARGE part would be your relationship with your employers and landlord(s). If it's fine, I'd expect "no comment" ...if it's shoddy....I just dunno.
I openly live with two women, have fantastic working relationships and have never had a problem around the building, hence,....we're left alone and never bothered. |
