Where do you like to go when you go out? Clubs? Bars? Talking bars? Red light district? Night clubs? Coffee shops? HOFS? Out to eat with friends?

Do you generally like to hangout with expats or Koreans?

When I was single, younger, and living in Seoul it would be about heading out with 2, 3, or 4 male friends and heading to foreign-friendly bars that didn't have any other foreigners.

Usually Gangnam on the weekends. We did a lot of driking on weeknights in Cheon-ho. Not many waygookin but a tonne of young, single, friendly women. Was a great neighborhood. Itaewon once every 2 or 3 months.

I am absolutely appalled you've delegated Nowon to the rank of 'other'. I therefore boycott this vote.

I would have voted Hongdea though...

Should be a "combination of" vote there. I would hate to hang out in only one place every weekend.

What's there to do in Nowon? Never been.

I like 3 Alley pub as it's a German style pub that reminds me of the good ol' days I spent in Germany in the US Army. I enjoy the Erdinger and chatting with Americans and Germans I meet there. It's really cool just to be in a setting for a few hours that is far removed from Korea and more of a place and people I can relate with. Beer is a bit overly expensive as is most non-water consumables in Korea. Itaewon also has a collection of interesting restaurants that don't serve gimchee, rice, jigae, and salty petrified shite like that.

Give it up for Itaewon...

But you've been on this board since April, which actually makes you less knowledgable about Korea than if you had never joined, so it's like you've been here 3 weeks.

But I digress. I also like 'Hongade' and 'Itaweon'.

At home.

haha.

When I actually bother to go out and drink, I do it in style. I like Apkujeong, they have classy bars and just nice places in general. On the expensive side, yes, but I don't go out or drink very much, so it's all good.

Insadong is a nice artsy/cultural area with lots of interesting shops, galleries, cinemas, restaurants and street venders.

It's more active during daylight and early evening hours, though - not much of a nightspot.

Yes, but I read a book on Korea so add 2 weeks to my stay, so its like I have been here for 5 weeks.

Actually, I do have a question is Hongdae better on Friday or Saturday or both.

I voted Shinchon but really my simple needs can be taken care of anywhere, even some lame suburb that no-one knows, because I like fried chicken (or other good drinking food), soju and beer and a small group of friends.
