I can't access a few of the websites that I normally visit (filecabi.net and wnd.com) while I'm at work. Is someone at my school monitoring what I'm looking at on the computer and blocking certain sites?

I use a proxy server so no-one at my school knows what I'm looking at on the web. |

Hello Sock,
AS it has been explained before the best way to circumvent these little paltry attempts at blocking are to utilize a proxy. One must use simple tools like google to search for these proxies.
I will now provide a simple check list for even the dullest of dullards to use to get around these laughable attempts at Korean censorship.
Do tell me if I've used words that are a bit out of your level.
1) Using the long skinny box like thingie at the top of your screen you will type the following: www.google.com
2) select the www.google.com and press the return key on the keyboard firmly
3) Once you've arrived at www.google.com go to the center of the screen and type Proxy.
Or if you are to lazy go back to step one and type www.anonymouse.org, or www.3proxy.com, or download torpark.
Thank You,
Mr Bojangles. |

I typed all that stuff in the long skinny box thingy but I noticed you said press "return." I don't have a "return" key on my keyboard though I have one that says "enter." How do I get past this obstacle. |

Not allowed. I will do it at home though and see what happens. I'm not sure though that the Korean office of whatever cares about me downloading big-booby-asian pics. |

Downloading porn at work is just dumb, IMHO. |

Kasparov--
Who is "Sock" and why are you saying "hello" to him/her?
If you had read the subject of the thread more carefully, you would have discerned that I wasn't asking about how to use a proxy server. My question had to do with whether or not the websites I visit at the public school I work at are being monitored.

No, that's at home. I wouldn't even think of looking at anything risque at work. You're right. That would be dumb. |

My public school blocked all kinds of websites. I don't think they were watching me, a lot of places were blocked the first time I tried. |

If your public school has blocked certain internet sites from you they have done it for a reason. Circumventing this would be classed as misconduct and could result in disciplinary matters. |

Alot of sites are blocked because they don't want students spending all their time in the pc lab playing on cyworld or watching mbc. |
