You cornbread lovers will know what I'm talking about. Are they available in Korea? |

If you will tell me where to find corn meal in Korea, I will tell you where you can get cast iron skillets, cornbread finger pans, muffin pans, etc. |

You got a deal, Gatsby!
Go to the foreign market in Itaewon (near What the Book store). I bought a bag there recently (it is fine grind, however, not the coarse grind you'd find in the USA).
The Red Door black market store in the same neighborhood should have it, too (or she will get it if you ask).
Now, where is the cast iron stuff here? |

What is this, culinary blackmail? I'd also like to know where to get a cast iron skillet. |

OK.
Go to the bus terminal in Ulsan and take the No. 60 bus outbound for 2.7 km. When you see the bakery, get off and walk sound two blocks. There is a kichenware shop two doors down from the barbershop that has cast iron cookware. |

I have seen cast iron cookware at an outdoor/camping supply store here in Jeonju. Might check out similar stores wherever you are located. Feel free to quote me in big bold print Gatsby. Yes, I did notice the mods took down the other quotes. I had no problems with them. |

There are tons of little shops that will custom grind whatever grain you want. I took the last of the corn meal that I bought on my last trip to NC to one of these places and they did a right good job duplicating it.
Now I'm looking for a deep fat fryer so I can cook up a mess of fried fish and hushpuppies. |

Holy off-topic, Batman!
Lodge Korea:
http://www.lodgemfg.co.kr/
Le Crueset is available at the Dept Stores, as are other <expensive> brands which make cast-iron.
Namdaemun market has tons of it, no brand names and good prices. Many cast-iron items are available along the outside area, more inside in the kitchenware sections. When I bought it the seller called it 주물 (joo-mool), but I am not sure whether that's the correct name as I have been in a debate with my Korean friend ever since I heard the term. Obviously you will know what it is when you see it, and more importantly, when you try to pick it up!
Good luck. |
