|
|
I'm having one of those days when I just want to blow some money on a new gadget. I have been looking at the D2 and the ipod touch. I'm just wondering how much the iPod costs in Korea, I'm guessing around 500,000 for the 32gb version? What about the 16gb? |

I am also curious if they now come pre-loaded with 2.0 firmware? |

really? Will it come in at the same price?
What are the new features or improvements? I'm off to google for a look anyway. |

well the rumour mill is suggesting a significant drop in price in order to balance with the new cheaper iphone. most people are predicting minor changes plus greater storage (the greater storage alone means waiting is worthwhile). Some people are predicting a 64GB version, although I'm sure this will be prohibitively expensive.
Some other rumours I've heard are a plastic back as opposed to the metal one ala Iphone.
Wait; I am really iffy about macs cus they are pretty evil, but if they pull out all the stops on this update I may consider it, because they are so sweet. If they add gps (to work with Google Maps as the Iphone does along with downloadable [not a word] maps (necessary for the non phone version) then I am sold.
Theres some interesting stuff coming out of Korea, but to date, I've not seen anything that competes (mind you there's some new stuff on the way v soon.)
I'm really in two minds about these mac players.
Wait, do not buy anything until September. |

I would agree, wait a month or two until the new versions come out. Now is a horrible time to buy an mp3 player. A lot of the older models (not just the iPod) are on the verge of being replaced.
Now, regarding the Touch. I myself am a recent convert, The Touch is the 4th mp3 player I've owned in the last 6 years, and far and away the best. Technically, it is not necessarily better than other mp3 players but the user interface can't be beat.
I would explain it with the following analogy. A few years ago, I bought a used mountain bike off a truck for 60,000 won. I had bought it for basic transportation to and from work, and in that respect, it served its purpose. However, the damn thing was such a pain in the ass to ride (gears got stuck, wouldn't shift properly, etc) that I hardly ever rode it.
Contrast that particular bike to the one I recently purchased from a good mountain bike manufacturer. Far from being basic transportation, it is actually *fun* to ride, so that I find myself making excuses to go out on errands just so I can ride it.
The Touch is that new mountain bike. Sure, it's functional, but it's the ease of use, the millions of miniscule refinements that just make it such a pleasure to use that elevate it above it's "technically superior" competition.

I'm not sure.
Shouldn't be too long; Korea's a throwaway society, they want all the latest shit here. |

I hope the new version will happy better sound quality. The current SQ on the Touch is utter crap.
How about adding a radio also like every other manufacturer has as a STANDARD feature.
I don't expect much from the new iCRAP.
And all that at premium prices. Apple executives are laughing all the way to the bank. |

WHat kind of headphones do you have? When I upgraded to Senheiser in-ear phones, it was like a portal to a whole new world of sound. |
