Three chords! Not even a nice minor sub-dominant in there. Just I, IV and V. I'm all for minimalism but this doesn't even cater to it's aesthetic. Nice melody, OK. Instrumentation: guitar, bass and drums, kind of drab. Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, verse. How about a bridge? The lyrics aren't too bad but don't compare to the likes of Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen.

Here are my votes: "Black" by Pearl Jam; "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd; "Magic Man" by Heart. I think these are just really really good songs, not for the writing specifically though.

This is a good thread for downloading ideas....I haven't gotten "What a Good Boy" out of my head for a few days now, hehe. Guess that's a mark of a good song too.
