Hi, hope someone can help me.
What does Active X do?
When ever I open IE I get a small bar in Korean asking me if I want music etc. from soribada and other korean sites. It has a little blue shield with am exclamation mark in it so I guess it is something to do with Active X. All the virus/spyware/adware progammes don't get rid of it, and I can't find any directory for it.
It's more of an irritant than anything as I don't know where it came from.
Any help would be great,
Cheers

AFAIK, active-x's are little pieces of software which allow a website to run it's content when you visit there. Like streaming or flash video.

My general rule is that, if I trust the website, I allow it. Definitely never allow active-x on any website you're not sure about. That's gonna end up in a virus.

Do you think it's ok to uninstall it?
Is it easy to re-install if need be?

It will be no problem to uninstall it but that particular website may not function as intended. ActiveX is website specific (each activeX program is tailored to a particular website). Its simple to delete:

Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Manage Add-ons>Downloaded ActiveX Controls (then delete as you desire)

Reinstalling should be simple, just revisit that website and you'll get the pop up again.
