I am currently teaching ESL in a Seoul public school. Part of my job is to instruct the Korean teachers after my regular classes. Can anyone suggest a textbook that would be suitable for adults who are only interested in learning basic English phrases? They want to be able to communicate in English but do not want to get into heavy discussions about anything. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this right. I'm really tired at the moment. Hopefully someone will get the main idea. Thanks.

Person to Person. Student Book. Starter.

I use it, and it's fine.

I'm sure Interchange 1 (not the beginning book) would be appropriate. Take a look at it in our community Scribd area. http://www.scribd.com/people/view/1005075 either search or click all the folders - then Books or Textbooks. Here's a direct link

You can also get an idea of what's out there in our bookstore. Browse the books, read teacher recommendations. These are all the best handpicked by TEFL teachers with lots of experience. http://eflclassroom.com/eflbooks.html

Good luck,

David
