I found a debit card by the KB ATMs at Express Bus Terminal this morning. (Sunday September 7th)

It's not a Korean debit card, which makes me think it might be someone that's travelling, or else just got to Korea, in which case they probably REALLY need it.

Take it back to their lost and found office. A lifeline as important as this would certainly be retraced in some fashion.

Perhaps their office can go about calling the customer service department of the card in question and letting them know it's been found.

However, it's pretty useless without a pin.

I wanted to leave it at the bank where I found it, but it was closed being Sunday and all.

I took it to the Marriott hotel and asked if it belonged to a guest there. They said it didn't but said they could hang onto the card.

So that's where it is. But you're right. I should have left it with the office for the bus station, which is why I came on here to post and hope the person PM'd me because when they try and look for it they probably wouldn't think to check the hotel.

Mistake on my part, but trying to do the right thing.

Anyway, by now the person has hopefully just cancelled it anyway.

On the plus side,

Koreans are pretty good about returning things.

From the epik oreintaton, I heard a story about a dude who dropped his wallet on the HIGHWAY (he was on a motorbike) and apparently a truck somewher behind him made a full stop picked it up. And brought it all the way from Seoul to Busan. From this story, I'm not even sure the truck driver was headed to Busan according to this tale.

Doesn't really surprise me at all. I know I've had people chase me out the front door when I accidentally over-pay for a meal or leave a book behind, etc.

I once found a Canadian Landed Immigrant card outside of the Seoul Plaza hotel. It was issued to a very very tall Korean woman (they print the height on the card). I saw it on the ground along with some garbage that looked like wedding photos or something. I thought maybe there had been a wedding at the hotel and it fell out of the drunk bride's purse. I had my GF call the hotel and ask them if there was a wedding there that involved the name on the card but nope. So I took it down to the Canadian embassy and dropped it off there. I figure the woman would be applying for a new one soon.

The best thing you can do is to cut it up with scissors and throw it in the trash. The person's already noticed it gone and has taken care of cancelling it and/or replacing it. That's less risky for the lost-card victim than handing it into the bank.
