|
|
I have started my first week teaching with the Incheon Metropolitan School Board, and it has been all right so far.
What I need help with is who to contact if I want the internet in my small apartment. Being a newbie at this, the internet is kind of a necessity as it is my lifeline to the West, to home.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

You should have a director or co-teacher at your school that is supposed to help you get all your bills organized. It usually takes only one phone call from them, and it will be set up the same day. |

Yes, get a co-teacher to help you, someone will probably have to come to your place and all that too. |

KT Megapass has English service: Dial 100 from a cellphone. |

That was my other problem, my co-teacher has just left for six months, and the school has opted not to replace her. They told me it would be fine. Sigh.
I will speak to the vice-principal today before I leave and ask if he can help set up the internet.
Thanks for the heads up. |

I you don't have an ARC card, you need to get that before you do anything. No ARC card, no internet connection, no card phone and no bank account.
Once you get your ARC, call the KT Megapass English number (or have a Korean call whatever ISP you want) and then fax them a copy of your ARC card and passport. |

what... no handler!? sign me up! although getting set up will be difficult right now, once everything is done, i think you'll be a lot happier with your situation

I guess you must be in Incheon if you know Sera. To answer your question I did contact Sera, but I received no reply unfortunately. I will email her again today though.
I don't mind not having a co-teacher in one sense, but like you say, getting set up has been more difficult.
What garbage bags do I buy? What in your opinion is the best idea for a phone? Where is the closest grocery store?
I didn't know my address, but I resolved that problem by getting a business card from the restaurant at the bottom of my building.
If I have the internet though, I will feel very comfortable. |
