Meanwhile, BoA is holding a press conference with the slogan, Best of Asia, Bring on America! at the Imperial Palace Hotel in southern Seoul. The conference will focus on her upcoming U.S. debut.

Where better than Seoul to promote your U.S. pop career?

Please, no. First off, that girls needs a break. Like...a five year break. Secondly...America? Why? She can have millions of fans in Asia--I doubt anyone other than Asian-Americans will give 2 sh*ts about her music.

I could think of maybe 1 or 2 Korean poptarts that could make it in the US. BoA is not one of them. Not attracitve enough. Not talented enough, and most importantly, nowhere near sexy enough.

I wonder if Lee Hyori could of made it in the States if she spoke decent English.

She has the voice (not a spectacular voice, but unique enough to find popularity) and she definitely has the sex appeal.

God damn she's so fine! Laughing

But she's 29 now, so perhaps her window has closed. Which sucks.

I like the second story about a "hearthrob badminton player".

That's a phrase I'd never heard before.

Yeah, I saw that. Carson used to have a bit called "least common phrases" or something to that effect. One was: "That's the banjo player's Porsche."

Yep. They really should have done with her what they tried to do with the Rain guy. Getting too old for that now.

Why is it that no good looking Korean women are exported to North America? None of my friends back home have ever believed me when I said Koreans are hot. All they ever see are the golfers and other not so attractive athletes.

I agree. They might make fun of her accent and if she makes any grammatical mistakes. I have Asian friends from different places who are into Korean music. Non-Asian friends? Zero.

As for Asians are hot comment, my friends are the same...until they saw some pictures of the Korean guys I've dated. They're like, he's a really good-looking Asian guy! As if good looks are only reserved for whites, black and Hispanics. Confused

Asian dudes tend to be physically smaller (height and weight), less bold when asking out chicks, and a few other things.

At least this was the reason why my sister and all her friends from back home gave when explaining why they don't even give most Asian (well east and south east Asian) guys a second look.

Which is also unfortunately why it may be more difficult for Asian guys to reach the mainstream in movies and music.

Unless they are Jackie Chan, Jet Lee, or any other popular kung-foo fighter, they've go a ways to go.

I went to a predominately caucasian high school (60-70% white) and most of the Asians tended to be fobs who stuck to themselves. There were a few (mostly played sports) who chilled with the cool crowd. But they were very Western.

The requirement that a guy be 6'+ when the girl is a shorty herself has always bewildered me. Even so, I've dated a couple of 6'+ Koreans though yeah, on average, Asian guys are usually not giants nor are they pick up artists but they tend to look young for their age, not have a lot of body hair and not put on weight easily so I think they have a lot going for them. I guess I kind of lucked out with my exes because I was even surprised when I met them how good-looking they are. I'd never seen Asian guys like that my whole life in the U.S. but they were born and bred in Korea which gives them this other worldly look and aura I can't explain. I think the same goes for Korean women in Korea. I think they are really beautiful at least in terms of looks. I don't really get women who won't even give Asian guys a chance. All I know is they are missing out and the world is missing out.

Do you ever post about anything other than Asian guys and about how they don't get a fair shake? We get it. You dig Asian guys. Cool. But your posts are filled with insecurities. Troll.

I was responding to endo's post. If you don't like it, you can contribute to the endless posts about how hot Korean women are and how much better they are than Western women.
