Once there, you can go anywhere...but three airports you could fly into...
Taskkent, Uzbekistan
Osaka, Japan
UlaanBaatar, Mongolia |

I voted Tashkent.
In your case, because I would assume you have already been to Osaka and Ulaanbataar 25-500 times already.
Always best to go to places you haven't visited or have not visited extensively, rather than repeating the same places over and over.
To be honest I get more culture and enlightenment out of visiting muslim country (like Uzbek) from an educational perspective alone, if nothing else. |

I agree with the above poster that it's best to go to places you haven't gone before, rather than keep going to the same places. On the other hand though, if you really like a place, why not go again? |

Haven't been there but it'd be Tashkent for some great hiking (apparently). |

If you have any good friends that you miss, any cute girls...then going back is more than OK.
I have 4 cute friends that I need to see in Mongolia next year |

I haven't been to Mongolia or Uzbekistan before - been wanting to though! Airfare to Mongolia is 700,000 right now, and Tashkent is 937,000. So, the difference in aifare isn't much between the two, making Tashkent more interesting!
Part of me really wants to explore Japan though...and try to practice the language. |

Back in '05 there was a train one could take from Seoul all the way down to Busan, a ferry ride to Hakata Bay, and a train ride all the way to Tokyo...with two stop overs (say Osaka and another city) all for 600 won !!!
I believe they still have that deal with a little extra cash. From Tokyo, you can take a plane to Ulaan Bataar. Check the Lonely Planet Guidebook which is a good source of info. |

Tashkent, Tashkent, Tashkent
Japan is almost like Korea, nothing special there.
I'm sure infrastructure and tourism more developed in Uzbekistan than in Mongolia. |

Well, I went to both Osaka and Ulaanbaatar. I always love going to Osaka, and yes Mongolia was very interesting although UlaanBaataatar was just alright (not good or bad). The countryside of Mongolia was incredible though.
I STILL want to go to Tashkent though, and maybe will next summer |
