Nope this is not about skirts. But infact, Korean Language Programs outside of the capital. I once thought that the Korean programs located at many universities in Seoul is exclusively limited to Seoul. But few and far between I was able to find some universities that offer similar full-time courses in other cities. Does anyone have experience learning Korean through university programs outside of Seoul? From what I can see, they are mostly cheaper and the structure is a little different. Often I've found living in Seoul can have it's negative points when learning Korean, because there is so much English going about. Sometimes I get the caveman urge to run away from the steel capital and head into the jungle, for hopes of finding a better learning experience. |

How are the programs designed? I attended Yonsei for half a term. It would be interesting to compare what you are referring to that is outside of Seoul. |

Well the program at a university in Gwangju runs five days per week, from 9am to 1pm. The course is a year long, divided into four semesters. You pay for the entire year upfront, which is about 4.4 million won (1.1 per semester). That's 300k cheaper than most of those in Seoul. I also imagine that 99% of the students there are of Asian origin. Fewer English speakers, more chance to practice Korean. But are the courses actually any good? That is the question I have no answer to. |
