|
|
| are the parasols, chairs & crowds gone from haeundae beach yet? i'm planning on going this weekend, and i actually enjoy all 3 of the things above... as well as the vendors walking back n forth on the beach selling chicken & beer... do you think the beaches will be deserted because of the holiday? thanx for anyone who can fill me in... |

| The tents and crowds left the day summer officially ended. Not sure how it will be this weekend with the holiday. |

| last Chuseok I went to a beach that's popular and it was deserted...completely. it was drizzling that day, though. if the weather's nice you should expect to see at least a few others yet. |

| I was there on August 30. A local Korean told me that swimming is off-limits 10 months out of the year, beginning September 1. |

you have gotta be kidding i know that the lifeguards are nazi-ish there with how deep you can go and such, but no swimming at all? i do believe it however ridiculous it sounds...
just asked a koteacher... he said that there's no one prohibiting you, but that the water is too cold to swim... he seconded that i'd most likely be very alone there... |

| If the weather is decent, there will be people at Haeundae. Alot of foreigners hang out in front of the Paradise Hotel where the beach volleyball net is set up. The ocean is 'officially closed' from the season, but like mentioned, the lifeguards will actually be gone as well, so its just a normal beach again. I hate it in July and August, rather go to SongJong. |

Your avatar is the funniest one I've seen so far!
As for Haeundae Beach, do those Korean girls ever get down to their bathing suits? I went there once and left quickly with my Korean-American friend. We were one of the few women on the beach wearing bathing suits and it felt awkward and inhibiting to say the least. |
