Seriously, some of the bars in Itaewon play horrible music. Gecko's and New Phillies I'm lookin in your direction.
Gecko's: depressing, angsty 90's rock in what is otherwise a spirited bar.
New Phillies: No name pop punk. What the hell? |

You hang out in Itaewon?
Ghey.
Just kidding. Why don't you ask one of the bars if you can be the new DJ ? |

I was back in North America a few months ago (after a long hiatus) and trust me the pop music is also for the most part horrible there too.
Now it's not as bad as Korean pop (although I can't get that stupid Wondergirls song out of my head ) but I don't think anyone doesn't think large portions of music from the West also sucks. |

"Pop" music stands for popular music. Almost everything that is popular in life is high on mass consumption though its quality is usually questionable.
I prefer Korean pop music to American pop music since it's different and I don't understand most of it. If I did, I don't think I would like it as much. American pop music makes me want to hurl but I guess to each his own. |

Starla you're a strange bird.
Korean pop music sucks ass thru a straw.. if you think for a nanosecond that those gay songs they play can even match up, much less contend with hits from the likes of Beyonce or Rihanna, you are out of your mind. |

Well, why the hell would you try to compare Beyonce and Rihanna (R&B pop divas with the top producers in the industry) to music from the likes of the WG or SNSD (young teenage sugar-pop dance performers). I prefer Rihanna to WG or SNSD most of the time, but if a person is looking for straight out cutesy, sweet, toothache pop, Korea's got that down perfectly. |

Which song is worse, that "La la la" song by SGWannabe, or anything ever made by OAR? |

You're entitled to your opinion and so am I. I was thinking more along the lines of Korean R&B and more mature pop rather than the teeny bopper pop which I agree is horrid. But like I said, the language issue keeps me from realizing how horrible a lot of the music really is. And this is the second time you've called me a strange bird. Do I give off a vibe that I'm covered in feathers and sit on eggs waiting for them to hatch? |

The music here is exactly what I'd expect from a repressed, conservative Christian society.
I don't even smoke pot these days, but I think this country and it's musicians need to have a go. Then perhaps the music might not be so shit. |

I've become a huge fan of the Korean band 'Nell". search for them on youtube and you'll find a few videos. As corny as it sounds, I feel like I know what they're singing about, even though its all in Korean! |

What was that BIG hit around last December/January - that was a top tune and if someone can provide a 'yootoobe' link I would be grateful!
It was like a slow tune - like melodic rap - that was ace! |
