|
|
Just got a new 500GB Seagate 3.5" drive which I have connected up to my laptop (WIN XP). When connected through the USB port, windows makes that "bing, bong" sound, and the bubbles pop-up saying that the drive is installed and ready. But, I can't see the drive anywhere! I mean when I go to "My computer", I can see my C and D drive but where is the new drive?
Any suggestions, ideas? |

Right click on the "my computer" icon. Select "manage". Find the new drive there and format it.
Do not (and sorry if this is obvious to you, but just to be on the safe side) format one of your other drives by mistake.
After it's formatted you should be good to go. |

Cheers Beaver, that worked a just great. Sweet! That was my first time to buy and install a new HD by myself; I'm surprised! I thought they were plug and play! |
