Is there a way to get my visa without having to actually go to the Korean Consulate? The nearest one is a six hour drive from me. Do I even have to do this or can I just mail my diploma to my school after I sign a contract and have them fill out all the paperwork? Thanks!

Phone the consulate, find out exactly everything they need, & proceed via courier. |

You have to get it at a consulate or embassy. You can mail your passport and visa issuance letter to the consulate, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, and they will process and send it back to you, but then you'll have some time delays concerning mail. Depends on your time situation.
Or you can come to Korea on a tourist visa and do the visa run to Fukuoka, Japan (which is the nearest consulate over here). Which may end up costing a lot more money, depending on whether or not the school will pick up the tab of the run. And often they won't, if they have the time to wait for an overseas visa processing.
I'd recommend calling your nearest Korean consulate and arrange to mail your visa paperwork to them. |

YOu may mail your diploma to get the invitaion for your visa, but you must visit or mail your passport and invitaion to the consulate or embassy to get the visa. Just use overnight/insured mail. |

Be very careful!!! The Atlanta, GA embassy will only return your passport by Express Mail. You cannot prepay Express Mail. You have to send them $4 and some in postage stamps. They won't tell you this until you call to ask why they haven't returned your passport! |
