Okay, so... hypothetically speaking, suppose a prospective teacher has already sent along to his future hogwan what he thought were the correct documents, only to find out that his CBC was not Apostilled (sp?). According to Korean Immigration, the CBC would still be acceptable if authenticated by the US Embassy here in The Korea, and according to the US Embassy website, they are more than happy to produce a sworn affidavit to that effect, provided the person whose documents are being sworn at (or whatever) is actually there in person to... um... swear.
The problem is, the documents are here but the teacher himself ain't. Now, I've done some poking around here already, so don't get all jumpy about me searching before I post. Anyway, is there any possible way for these papers to be authenticated here without the dude actually being here? Or must we send them back and tell him to get his act together... or perhaps 'twould be easier just having him start from scratch?
It's a bit of a time-sensitive issue, so we're looking for the quickest possible solution. Muchas gracias in advance.[/i] |

Um, call the embassy. It's the one place in the whole country where you can be fairly certain that they speak English. Or, flush the CBC and tell that idiot to stay in Kentucky.
