This user has robbed me. I ordered 8 books from him and he only sent 4 (crappy books). Also, when I talked to him on the phone about it he used foul and obscene language towards me and basically said he is ripping me off because he doesn't like my posts. Beware and don't buy anything from this seller. He is a low class piece of dirt and has no regard for common decency.

Yah, that's not right. I understand that you may grate on a lot of people in this forum (heck...I'm guilty of that myself) but it's no reason to rip you off.

Give him his books Inukshuk. You won't be able to sell anything here again if you rip off somebody (...even spliff). Wink

Stealing is stealing, the only excuse for it is owing to a low class mentality. Shame on you inukshuk, you have lost ur good name. Do you not possess at least a modicum of honor? Laughing

Guys I can't see how you can compare what this user has done to spliff (basically not delivered on agreed goods) with what Spliff does, basically pointing out a cheaper price or an unrealistic price that a seller is asking. It's like apples and oranges folks, not the same at all.

Believe me I'm not a huge fan of spliffs, yet I don't agree with ripping him off like this. How would all of YOU feel if you and a buyer agreed on something but they sent only half the agreed upon goods? Shame on you guys for jumping on the bandwagon to try and justify this with "karma" or "what goes around comes around mentality". It's stealing, plain and simple.

If what Spliff says is true then it is very bad form from Inukshuk, disagreeing with comments and style is one thing, but stiffing another user on a deal, especially to "teach them a lesson" is something else. It should be noted that in addition to posting, Spliff actually does "buy and sell" goods here - most people who enjoy being controversial would probably register different usernames for flaming and trading, which Spliff has honourably chosen not to do. Not sure if there's any chance for Inukshuk to pass on the rest of the books, but I guess that would be the ideal outcome.

So to recap:

... Inuk agreed on a price for set amount of goods.

... Spliff paid said price and didn't recieve those goods

... Inuk says he withheld goods because he doesn't like what Spliff writes on these forums???

You people have a fu**ed up understanding of karma. Karma would be trolling on a Spliff post... Pointing out why his price is way to much...

There's wrong and wrong and then there's this... Who are you to teach karmatic lessons? It's simply a cowardly act... he's taking advantage because he can complete this entire transaction in anonaminity... he never would have accepted cash from him in person then NOT hand over those goods... as an online community thats coexists and often completes transactions under this anonaminity, we shouldn't applaud this sort of behavior, it could happen to you next, under someone else's own misguided interpretation of karma.

Shame on you.

Spliffing or stiffing--neither belong on a buy/sell forum, IMHO.

I've had a good buying experience in the past with inukshuk, but I guess now I'll have to avoid both inuk AND spliff, on principle.

Another option is to meet and pay only when you are satisfied with what you are planning on buying.

You really don't think that spliff offers a good service in letting others know about potentially rip-off prices that some people post? I'm not going to assume that everyone who does post "high" prices is out to screw unsuspecting buyers, but I'm sure some do. Spliff just tells the truth, is he a bit obnoxious? probably. Could he be a bit less obnoxious? probably.

This is a forum, where any registered user can post a reply. That means that anyone posting here knows Spliff may or may not post in their thread. If you don't want comments about your asking price, don't post here. Use a Thrifty Nickel or Craig's List or whatever where no responses are allowed.

Stealing from other posters is wrong, no matter who the victim is. If you think Spliff "deserved" to be ripped off, may you yourself be robbed so we can be as cold as you when you come on here to bitch about it.

Notice, Spliff did not bitch and complain. Rather he simply posted what happened as a warning to others. That's the way it should be done. He has acted truthfully in this whole affair (to our knowledge), and I applaud him. If he wanted to get revenge, he could post any and all info he could on inukshuk including name, phone no., address, anything.

Notice we haven't heard from inukshuk yet, either. I wonder why?
