I was told that I could bring a Korean CDMA phone to the Philippines and that I could order the monthly service known as open-line, which would allow me to use my Korean cellphone in the Philippines.
Is this true? |

ONLY in metro Manila and it IS EXPENSIVE. You pay about 2500 won per minute for airtime (inbound or outbound). SMS is equally expensive.
The networks there are GSM not CDMA. You can get basic phones and a SIM for as little as $20. Buy a phone there if you really need to stay in touch.
SMS will cost about 1 peso per message and talk time is cheap too.
