It was either that or live in a really skanky love motel for the duration.

My new place is the place I lived for the first month here. It's huge (2bdrm), and while it was kinda crappy before, now that it is renovated, it is seriously awesome. Everything except the cabinets is brand new, and the bathroom was completely redone from scratch. I haven't been able to move back in yet, but it was unlocked the other day and I poked my head in.

Their apartment was like a palace to me.

I would have bleached the ever-living *beep* out of those walls. It would still be ugly, but clean.

I just kept the door closed. I didn't have any furniture (all I was given was a bed and a mold-filled fridge), so it's not like I could have used the room anyway. My table was a cardboard box.

Well, at least thing are looking up! Cool

Suggestion - wipe off/wash anything that was in that apartment, i.e. your clothes, with a 50/50 mix of vinegar (5%) and water to kill the spores.

P.S.
Believe it or not, certain moulds/mildew can actually use bleach as a nutrient. Shocked

Google says it's no good on moldy wood, but works well on tiles which is what I use it for...
