One of my Kfriends told me I should peel Korean pears before I ate them, so I've been doing that since my first one. Any truth to this, whether in taste or in health? I buy them from the back of a truck laid out on the road, if that helps. I'll be sure to wash em. |

I think its cos koreans eat it that way. They peel it and cut it up into pieces, then eat it with forks.
The skin is pretty thick i guess. it's up to you really.
I don't think they use that much pesticide on them. Koreans are very into their wellbeing. |

They are into the well-being but I doubt the farmers are, money first.........
I see them spraying stuff on the veggies they are growing all the time......
There are very few birds in Korea to control the insects..... |

They use TONS of PESTICIDES ON EVERYTHING!!
I live where they grow everything. Spraying is constant and besides being on your food it is also hanging in the air. It can be seen hanging in the air from different vistas. Korea is not that large a country geographically, and the air from these provinces reaches up to Seoul and other cities.
There is scientific ignorance about what they are doing, and they habitually do this day after day, even now. It is part of their everyday ritual along with spraying all the streets in the town like they are in 1950s New Jersey.
Locals here have told me about friends dying of cancer. Korea is supposed to have a high incidence of cancer.
I have traveled about also in the south and it is done everywhere I look. Your rice has tons of poisins on it, along with all the peppers, fruit, and everything else.
Until Koreans become more organized about doing something about their environment and science education - if there is one reason to leave a job and South Korea, it is the poisins you are ingesting and breathing! |
