I heard its illegal to bbq food in the park areas of the city, so Im wondering where an appropriate place would be other than campgrounds or is there even places that allow bbq cooking at all?
I used my little bbq grill that I bought online and bbq'd some U.S. beef that I bought last week over Chuseok. I used those great little round bbq coal starters (eventhough I heard they arent very good for your health)
Id like to be able to do it more often in places that allow it |

I'm in Daegu but I'm sure its the same as Seoul. Just go to the roof of your apartment block and BBQ up there. That's what I've been doing for the past 4 years. No problems.
Fireworks are a different story... |

I do it quite regularly at the side of a river I live near and on my front porch. Not to brag, but this time around I actually have a front porch with a small green grass yard larger than any yard I seen last year in the city. BBQ'ing is accepted behavior as people do it in the parking lot near my place every night. They just park and have tail gate parties/picnics every evening. You can do this as long as it's not in front of a store or in someones way. They tend to be very tolerant of smoke, drinking parties, and trashing out the great outdoors, but please pick up after yourselves. You can also shoot off fireworks any time you like too. |
