We are going to SE Asia and, as I don't really trust that my KB card is truly international, I would like to have a bit of cash on hand when we get to Hong Kong and Thailand.
For anyone that has done it before, have you gotten foreign currency here in Seoul?
Or, would US dollars be the best thing to take along? |

Buy some at the airport in Incheon before you head out (200k won worth of each). The rates are competitive. Take US$ for the rest of your holiday funds (just cause Ben Franklins take so little space in your pocket).
Do NOT depend on your ATM card the first time out. Even if you have been told that it will work abroad you have about a 70% chance that it won't.

Thanks for the advice.
Do you know how early the exchange place at the airport is open? |

The majority (those on the departures level) are open 6am - 9pm but there are a couple on the arrivals level that are 24/7.
