I'm gonna have to say breakfast at home is the best.

Because I've only lived in the 'burbs, I've never had breakfast at a restaurant in Korea. I sure miss it though, and I can't wait for Thailand! Yummy toast and bacon and eggs, on the beach, >3< oooooh yeah!

Good thread, though.

There's one in Apgujong....bloddy incredible! It's American style, with generous portions (altough a little pricey).

I can't remember the name right now. Can anyone help me out.

There's a place in Haebangchong.

If you go there from Itaewon, you go left up by the clay pots. It's a few hundred yards up the street.

I haven't had an amazing breakfast yet in Seoul, but I have to say Suji's is pretty good! I went to the one in Hyundai dept. store at Coex. I've only had eggs and toast, but it was great quality and taste.

I second fourtysixyou. My breakfast at home consisting of oatmeal, almonds, honey, and fruit juice is the best in the East. There's nothing like a good cup of Starbucks coffee to start breakfast upon waking. My house contains the only Starbucks in the region for many mountainous miles radius.

Thailand does have bacon, eggs, ham, sausage, pancakes, cereal, muesli, and a variety of fresh fruits widely available in most towns where it's a good chance you can just walk to it upon waking. Getting fresh coffee is a challenge, but is only sometimes available. They rarely brown off the bacon, ham, and sausage like the way we like it though. Coffee is the same as Korea's such as Nescafe and other terrible instant coffee, but real tea if readily available.

Just like in Thailand, I see Koreans eating some light salty liquid broth with small boney fish and a dollop of plain white rice for breakfast. Asians sure live a hard life, but don't really know it as it's simply a part of the commonly accepted low standard of living.

To my knowledge there are no breakfast places in most parts of Korea outside of Seoul other than McDonalds in the cities such as Wonju and Changwon, but it doesn't matter as that sucker would have to be walking distance for me to patronize it. It's rare to get a place in Korea where you can walk to restaurants you like such as a bacon, eggs, and real coffee diner joint. I used to go to classic diners at home.

Went to "All American Diner" in Itaewon (above the new Starbucks, near the McDonalds) and it was everything I wanted (and more) in a greasy, Denny's style breakfast, for under ten bucks. Cool

Gangnam Hooters has a good Brunch menu and the prices are decent considering the portion size was pretty big. I liked the home-made sausage patties the best.
Here in Bucheon the new Rhythm & Booze bar behind Hyundai Department store has a 5,000won breakfast all day. 2 eggs any style, 2 sausage, bacon or ham, 2 slices toast and hashbrown. It was well cooked, not too greasy and you can order it all day.
But yes, the best breakfast is at home. My darling husband whips up a a very tasty Tex Mex scramble on the weekends. Yummy!

Have you ever made a post on the board not mentioning your husband? Laughing

Big Rock has the best deal, 9,500 for a breakfast buffet, fresh and all you want: scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, juice, toast - even pasta and a few other treats. Only on weekends but served till 3.

In Itaewon, Mickey D's is just as good as any of those over-priced, "let's pretend we're in a Sex and the City episode" fancy brunch places. I really don't need to pay 15 bucks for an eggs benny.

Big Rock has upped it's price. Was talking to the owner/manager and he was saying this was due to rising costs, but he would also add things like waffles and freshly squeezed OJ for your first drink. Strangely, he blamed most of the rising costs on the lettuce Confused Question

I went when it was 9,500 and I thought it was a good deal. Then when he raised it to 13,500 I went again and found cold waffles and OJ as your first and LAST drink.. after that it's pop. Didn't really seem worth it to me.

Great thread as a greasy breakfast is one my favourite meals. I'll be checking out All American Diner, and the Apgujeong and Haebangchon places if we can get their names on here. Anyhow, I'll vote for Gecko's Terrace as the best breakfast I've had here - big portions and real breakfast sausage.

Eggs, a rasher, toast, beans, black pudding, coffee. All on an autumn morning in Portree.

Can't be beat.
