|

I want to try and burn a few dvds of English language movies but put Korean subtitles on them. I have no problem finding English subtitle files but there never seems to be Korean versions. Anyone know of a really good site for this? |

Just because they have dvd screeners doesnt make them dvd's. If you are just looking for avi subs that is great.. if you are looking for dvd subtitles, they might not be available |

well i don't even know what the difference is, you usually have an avi file no matter if you download a dvd rip or screener. i was just saying it as i thought if they had subtitles for the latest dvd screener releases there is a good chance they have them for older dvds. |

burning from avi. most of these avi movies you download are straight dvd rips, so what is the difference? |

Most avi.s are not straight dvd rips as if they were they would be around 4-9gb per movie. I was assuming that you wanted to burn 700 mb/ 1.39gb avi.s right?
With the gom player site try to choose a subtitle with the same ripper. i.e. axxo avi with axxo subtitle, otherwise you will have to sync them.
are you going to burn them as avi? or burn them as dvd? If your dvd player can handle divx then you should be able to fit 4-6 movies per dvd otherwise only 1 or 2 |

ah ok. When I see dvdrip I just assumed there was no difference.
I want to try and hardcode the subs on, then burn to dvd to watch on a normal dvd player. I have read that this can be quite tricky though and is not as easy as it sounds. |

I know this won't help with hardcoding subtitles.
But if you want a nice way to watch movies that you have downloaded without having to burn them have you looked at getting a divx player? It is pretty much an external hardrive that has a video card. I paid a little over 200,000 for mine (including a 500gig seagate harddrive). has wireless and a lan port so you can access files on your computer. has a couple of slave usb ports so you can access external hardrives.
one of the best things i have bought. outputs include rca, component, dvi, optical.
plays everything except for h264

(the korean model does not have hdmi and looks like the 760 (but plays 1080p like the 780) |

Ok, since I know now what you are asking about.. this is the program you need..
convertxtodvd (do a search on a torrent site to get a full working version)
you can convert avi to dvd (prolly only 1 movie per dvd though).
You can also add menus to the dvd's and add subtitles. It WILL play on stand alone dvd players. |

I use my Xbox to watch any movies I download, just plug a USB card into it. It works great but subtitle files aren't recognised on it. You would have to hardcode them. I'm not too fussed, I just connect my laptop to the tv to watch foreign movies. I only need to find out how to burn the Korean subtitles for a friend.
skconq - thanks for the program recommendation. gonna check it out now. |
