I've gotta go with Couture. I think we all know Lesnar doesn't deserve this title shot, but his drawing power is obvious. I just hope that Couture's skills haven't diminished a lot in the 14 months since he last fought. Will be the most watched MMA event ever no doubt, and and exciting fight.

BTW did you guys see Lesnar talking smack about Fedor today? I'd love to see Fedor smash him up!

I think Fedor would pick his teeth with Brocks long bones. Coutoure though has been out for a while now. More than a year I think. Gonna be a fun one....

You guys are failing to realize that Brock is a walking pile of muscle. Couture is older and I must say I think it will show this fight. Brock, man, a freight train...

Just the name itself, Brock, exudes power. I think I will change my name.. Shocked Wink

Yes, he is a truck with legs. But his inexperience will do him in I think. With more experience, (and more practise getting out of submission holds) I think he has the potential to easily be the world champ.

Then again, he could probably bear hug coutoure into submission....

When I think of Couture I don't think of Submission Victories. He is more of a ground and pound guy. He has ADCC champ Drysdale in his gym though. Hopefully he doesn't neglect his submission game and makes sure to train with Drysdale. I expect Couture to win but that said he always has had problems with bigger stronger wrestlers.

wow,

not sure if i trust couture to make any good submissions, and lesnar's size too much for most to handle.

even a big guy like mir was having trouble fending off blows, till lesnar rolled right into that knee-bar.

it kills to see guys getting title shots that have zero in the submission area. but i'm praying, maybe, someday, fedor will end up in the UFC

by the way, can't find any of the fights. anyone know a good link for past UFC or one to watch it live?

Forgive my ignorance but has Brock even won a match? I saw his debut some time ago and if I recall he was defeated within a minute or two. Why should anyone care if he's facing Couture?

Yup, exactly what I meant by experience and sub practise.

Brock Lesnar is a truly gifted monster of an athlete. He's enormous. He's incredibly powerful, and he's blazing fast for a big guy. Hell', he's pertty damn fast for a little guy too. He has lost through inexperience and as the other poster said, Mir (another big mofo) was just plain getting hammered until Lesnar f-ed up. A lot of people aer erally interested in seeing him do well, because with experience and more ground skill, he could dominate the game for a long long time.

Herring is no slouch, and Lesner destroyed him. His combination of speed, size, power, and intensity make him a potential champion without a doubt.

I thought UFC would wait longer to give him a match like this, but it is a business first and foremost, and there's no denying his drawing power.

Couture has his hands full with this one.

Who do you guys think would win in a fight if Hong Man Choi fought Brock Lesnar??

Hong Man Choi has the potential to beat Nogueira or Josh Barnnett, and he almost beat Fedor. Hong Man Choi is almost a foot taller than Brock Lesnar, and has never been taken down before.

I say Hong Man Choi wins easily. Brock Lesnar wouldn't take him down fast enough before Hong Man Choi knocks him out.

Hong Man Choi vs Brock Lesnar?

Hong Man CHoi 7' 2" 355lbs.

Brock Lesnar 6' 3" 295lbs.

Very few of Hong Mans opponents can even reach his head. Lesnar can get up there and beat on his head all day long.
Hong Man is one slow mo fo.
Brock Lesnar is scary fast.
