I've been riding Shinko tires for about 3 years on my Honda CB400. I honestly love em. I ride like a maniac and have the mileage to prove it. I put about 15,000 on set number 1. They are H rated which is perfect for the CB400 (rated to 180km/h). They are basically street tourers (long lasting, not so sticky tires for sport bikes). I paid 100,000 and 120,000 for fronts and backs. Not bad considering a pair of Pilot Powers (michellin) cost about twice as much and last half as long. I ride the twisties and I lean er in the corners (within reason, these are public streets and my tires aren't meant for hard core racing...). Anyway, I figure they are the best weapons for the job and they fit both my bike and my skill.

But, I'm pissed off about the cost of these cheap arsed tires. They are too pricey considering Shinko has no reputation....none. They are thought to suck the world over, even though they make some decent treads...

So I'm sick of supporting Korean companies that rip me off when I could buy better products from western companies with far greater reputations for a similar price if not cheaper.

In the future I'm buying IRC RX-01 - same damn tire, but 90,000 - 110,000 front and back. They have far more of a reputation than Shinko and I've ben riding their mountain bike tires for years. And they had to import them from those from the lowly Japanese...who couldn't make a thing if it weren't for Korea selling them all their secrets...

Or

Pirelli - Sport Demons. Slightly better tire, but same sport tourer. This time its those lowly Italians...I mean they make Ducatti. What a peice of shit that is. A little more pricey, 110,000 - 140,000 fronts and backs.

Now I just have to find those Bridgestone Battle Axe tourers....

So what tires do you ride?

Fight the power!!!!!

The next thread....why Hyosung sucks
