My buddy and I both bough some nice bikes and we would love to go for a weekend trip outa Seoul. How can we find where to go and which roads we are allowed on? Any recommendations and / or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

Yes, I am in Seoul.

I have a 250cc so I should be able to get up to 80km/h...

Did it!

Rode up to Gangwado last weekend.

No problems getting outa town. Its was a great ride all the way.

Cheers!

J.

The only roads you are not allowed on are the expressways. Some of the regular highways might be pretty scary unless you have some riding experience and bikes that will get to at least 80kph.

Yes, unless you see a "No motorbikes" sign, a toll gate or the "expressway" highway sign shape and colors, you are good to go.

Get a good road atlas with English and Korean on it at Kyobo or other bookstores. It's a life saver and some, like mine, show elevation changes so you can map out good mountain runs.

Johan, you in Seoul? I take occassonal day and weekend trips to different parts of the country. I've been meaning to organize an overnight ride this autumn.
