				| I am not an native speaker and doesnt hold visa for teaching. But I was teaching here in a small hagwaon for last few months and we signed a contract for one year.
It was just on a plain paper.
Now I am pregnant, and I have stopped going to work.
I have notfied my boss about it.
But he keeps me telling that he may take legal action if I dont go to work.

My health is not allowing me to work now and moreover pay was not good and also its very far from my place.

Can you suggest what type of legal action he can take?

				| It's a bluff on his part. There's nothing he can do. You were working illegally, but he was employing you illegally. | |

				| Is the child's father anywhere in the picture? What's his status (Korean citizen, legal alien, illegal alien, etc.)?
Your boss could get you deported but he could also suffer legal consequences himself by doing so. I'd suggest to him that you both decide to cut your losses and spare each other any grief.

 Really, I wouldn't have guessed!

You broke the law by teaching illegally and should face the consequences. Most likely, it's just a bluff on his part as he will face a share of the music if you get busted.

you posted this a few months ago. so you signed a contract knowing that you were trying to get pregnant? if the pay was not good and it was far from your place why did you sign in the first place? very responsible.
is your partner Korean? if you're on an F2 there are no legal repercussions if you just walk. sucks to be your boss though. | |

				| Let's be fair to the OP. Although she's obviously not qualified to teach English, she seems eminently qualified to teach the social mores of the average English-speaking woman. | |

There is NO legal action he can take. He cannot force you to commit a crime by virtue of a contract and since you are not qualified to be a teacher he cannot make you work as one.

As far as his complaining to immigration, the result would largely depend on your current visa status.

If you are F3 you will get fined but he will also get fined.
If you are F2 / F4 / F5 there is nothing he can do but cry for his stupidity.

If you are some other visa status (D or E class) then you are at risk of a fine if he reports you but he will also get fined for hiring an illegal worker.

IF you are under a trainee program then you might be given an exit order or ordered to be deported and he would be fined.

If you are here as an illegal alien you would be deported and he would be fined.

In all cases (except the last two) the risk to him is greater than the risk to you. You can sleep well and not worry. Block his phone if he is bothering you.
