alright here's the deal...i work four 30 minute Kindy classes everyday M-F from 10-12. then, i have 5 fifty minute afternoon classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, but only 2 fifty minute afternoon classes on Wednesday-Friday. I show up at about 9:45am daily, and leave at 6pm. 2.3/month
today, i was told that i will have 9 extra students in one of my afternoon classes on Tuesdays (in addition to my 13 students) because the other native speaking teacher (who works part-time) can't work on Tuesdays. i asked for overtime pay to take these extra students. was that asking too much? |

If you are working more than 120 hrs a month overtime. Under that no overtime (depending on contract).
I am not sure I understood but you want more money for teaching more students right? you only get more money for teaching longer than your contracted hours. |

well, yeah sort of.
i was told that i will be taking on another teacher's students on tuesdays b/c she can't make it in on this day. so, i asked to get paid more (like o/t or her hour of pay since she just works 1hr/day M-F).
he agreed and will be paying me more, saying that he thought i'm a good teacher and can see a difference in the students. now, i don't know if it was wrong on my part to ask for more $$$. i didn't say exactly how much i wanted...
we got a good working relationship i think. |

If you make yourself an asset to the school, most of the time they will make sure you are happy. It is the moaners and groaners who do not want to work and expect to be treated like royalty that usually get sh*t on.
Good for you. Do a good job and people will recognize that. |
