after nearly five years within the hallowed corners of sungbuk-gu in seoul, the wife and i are packing things up and heading for uijeongbu next week. i'm quite familiar with nowon, i know the mountains up in the northern corner of seoul, and my wife has family in pocheon. however, i don't know much about the city of uijeongbu. i know there will be the outbacks, homepluses, beer hunters, etc., but i was wondering if there are any bars that draw in western folks, be it english teachers or military? hell, i'll take anything! as always, your input is greatly appreciated! |

I use to live out Paju way, & would get the #32 bus occasionally to Uijeongbu, & catch the subway into Seoul. My immigration office was also located there. Coming by bus from Paju, there was a spot about 1/2 way between the 2, where there was good hiking up the mountains. I never hung around U'bu long enough to sample the nightlife, though.
