|
|
I figured it out and had hot water, then I left it alone for awhile. I got cold last night and managed to turn the floor back on, then tried to turn it off while leaving the hot water on, but didn't succeed. My apartment is now waaay too hot, so I turned the whole thing off for awhile. I need to figure out how to turn off just the floor so that I have hot water.
All of the settings are labeled in Korean.
The thermostat device has switches on each side with three settings each and on the face of it there is an on/off switch on the right, and another switch on the left that turns the water on. The switches on the sides are what I don't understand. There's also a knob on it that seems to control temperature. The brand name is Narien. |

If you post a pic of your thermostat, it is easier to help you with translation. |

the pic wont show if you put the link with the [img] tags......don`t see why you can`t post the link anyway ......people have been posting links in the "best Konglish T-shirt" thread etc no problems |

all the ones i've seen are similar. you should have a couple of colored circular buttons. one being the overall power, and the other that switches between hot water and floor control.
press one of the colored ones so that the light next to it is lit up. If it's not lit up, that means the floor is on. You can check this by turning the knob which controls the temp, and you will see it changing. When you cannot make the temp change, that's when you dont have the floor heating on. The hot water heats up when you run the hot tap, and is not controlled by a knob.
hope this helps |

The easiest way is to draw a picture of it, copy the Korean exactly, and take it to school with you and ask someone to explain it. |

You shouldn't have to turn on the floor heating part of the system until late November. |

Mine looks exactly like the picture put forth in the post bassexpander linked to. For hot water only, turn it on by pressing the large button on the lower right. Then, there are two smaller buttons on the bottom to the left of the large power button. I press the smaller one on the right once for hot water only. |
