|
|
I slipped in under the wire last spring and renewed my E2 for another 7 months before the new regs took effect.
That 7 months is almost over, November 22. I want to extend for another month until Christmas.
Has anyone had experience with this? Bacially my question is:
Will I have to give them CBC and medical test papers for a 1 month extension of an existing visa that was originally obtained without the new regs? |

short answer = yes.
If you wish to renew your contract at your current school, you will need the following documents ;
1. Visa Extension Application
2. Passport and your Alien Registration Card
3. New contract / extension of current contract with end /departure date
4. Sponsorship Certificate (from school)
5. A copy of Certificate of School / Business Registration (from school)
6. Processing Fee (30k won for the extension)
7. Criminal Record Certificate, apostillized / embassy notarized & less than 6 months old.
8. New Health Check Certificate |

If you want to keep your visa status, I am not going to disagree with ttompatz (he knows way more than I do) then I guess it is yes, but if all you are looking to do is stay a month for like traveling then I think you can accomplish this without all the paperwork hassle. I believe you need something showing your departure date and they will extend. |

Yes, I assumed he meant a WORKING visa extension and not just a stay in Korea (without working) extension.
If you are NOT going to be working you simply need your ARC, passport and exit ticket (no more than 30 days past your ARC expiry). |
